Hunting & CRP Land for Sale in Pony Gulch Twp, Wells County. This 140 acre parcel of land adjoins the Lonetree Wildlife Management Area (approximately 26000 acres) which is between Harvey and Hurdsfield just 3 miles west of Highway #3. This is a fantastic hunting area as the Sheyenne River is less than a mile away; the property has some brush and trees along with the CRP grasses. There are plenty of whitetail deer, upland game birds and the ducks and geese should be flying in the area.
The legal description is N2 of NE4 of section 20-148-73 and S2 of SE4 Section 17-148-73 less 20 acres. Section 17 borders the Wildlife Management Area, which is open to public hunting but motorized vehicles are not allowed.

The property is also a part of the North Dakota Game and Fish Departments “PLOTS” program. The PLOTS program allows hunters the right to hunt on the land but there are no vehicles allowed. The PLOTS program runs through the same term as the CRP contract 2015.
There is also a 5 acres food PLOTS program where the land owner must plant 5 acres of a crop and leave it unharvested for the wildlife to feed on it. The FSA office determines each year what is to be planted.
The 2006 taxes were $715.95.
To get to the property you would travel on Hwy #3 either going south from Harvey or north from Hurdsfield until getting to 14th Street NE at that point you would go “West” 3 miles, at that point you would take a right and go North ¾ of a mile on a prairie trail which would take you to the southeast corner of section 20 where there will be PLOTS signs at the corners.
